What happens to your answers
They're encrypted the whole way — in transit and at rest. Your answers are processed for one purpose: preparing your document.
They are never used to train AI. Your lease, your agreement, your answers — they stay yours. They don't become anyone's training data.
The database is locked to the application alone. No public access path exists to stored documents; every document is retrieved only by its own unguessable link — the one shown to you when your document is ready.

What we are — and what we're not
LegalDraft is self-help software, built by LegalDraft Technologies LLC. It asks you simple questions and places your answers, exactly as you typed them, into a template a licensed attorney reviewed for your state — and it states the execution steps for that state.
We are not a law firm, and we won’t pretend to be one. The software chooses no term for you: every choice the document turns on is your election, or a blank you complete. It does not read your existing documents, does not grade them, and does not tell you what to do. That line matters, and we hold it even when softer marketing would sell better.
When a document carries real stakes, the software says so plainly and points to a licensed attorney. Think of it the way tax software changed taxes: the process got simpler and easier to understand — and a licensed professional is available for the moments that deserve one. Attorney finalization is offered separately, by independent licensed attorneys under their own engagement terms.
How the templates earn it
A template is released only after a licensed attorney reviews it. Every released template names its reviewer, the state, and the date — a review of the template, not of your document.
State law is cited, not guessed. Where your state has a hard rule — signing formalities, witness and notary requirements, deposit limits, interest caps — the platform carries that rule as verified reference data and cites the statute. Where it isn't certain, it says nothing rather than inventing something.
Your answers go in as typed. No software choice stands in for yours: an election is yours to make, a blank you leave stays a blank, and the document says exactly what you said.
